Marsa Alam is located on the Red Sea in Egypt about 790 km and 300 km south of Hurghada. Marsa Alam is famous for its sandy beaches and coral reefs. The Kite-surf site in El-Naaba Lagoon is separated from the open sea by a coral reef. Wadi El-Gemal National Park, on the south, encompasses desert, seagrass beds, reefs, and islands. Abu Dabbab Bay is known for sea Turtles and Dugongs (sea cows).

          The best scuba diving sites in Marsa Alam:

            • Elphinstone Reef: One of the best dive sites in the World. It is an offshore Reef offering spectacular wall drift diving with wonderful Coral and amazing Marine Life. This place is famous for regular encounters with Hammerhead Sharks and the dangerous White-tip Shark! This site is for experienced divers only.
            • Dolphin House (Sha’ab Samadai): This wonderful reef creates a lagoon with clear seeing. The lagoon is good for scuba diving or snorkelling with dolphins. It is a very memorable experience.
            • Abu Dabbab: The most popular dive site in the area. you can dive with the very rare and endangered Dugongs. This is also home to many big Green Sea Turtles and the rare guitar shark.
            • Fury Shoals: The most pristine reef in the area with amazing hard and soft coral.
            • Wreck of the Hamada: Marsa Alam has the Hamada wreck, it is a 65 m longship that crashed in 1993. is an easy and spectacular shore dive and underwater photography.

                      Weather and Temperatures and the Best time to visit Marsa Alam:

                      • You can expect 25°C on average from October to March.
                      • Air temperature is much higher in Summer from April to September and is usually around 35°C.
                      • March to May is the Best time to visit, and in October/November time for warm and sunny weather.

                      Fly to Cairo then takes a domestic flight with Egypt Air to Marsa Alam Airport. Also, from Cairo, you can take a 10-hour bus to Marsa Alam.

                      Option 3

                      Fly to Luxor and take a taxi for 2 hours to Marsa Alam.

                      Option 4

                      Fly to Hurghada and take a taxi for 4 hours.
